Queens Ready for Battle Against Oklahoma Oblivion

Kicking off the day at 1 PM, the Omaha Queens will face the Oklahoma Oblivion, currently ranked #2 in the Heartland Conference standings of the Major Arena Soccer League Women (MASLW). The Queens are coming off an impressive home opener victory, defeating the Wichita Aero 11-3 at Baxter Arena. Standout performances included goalkeeper Emma Toohey, who leads the Heartland Conference in key standings for “shots against” and “save percentage.”

The Queens’ hard-fought 5-8 loss against the conference-leading Wichita Lady Luck earlier in the season has only fueled their determination. Head Coach Emmanuel Viel promises the Queens are ready to bring their best to this pivotal matchup. “Our players have been putting in the work with 5:30 AM practices, and they’re eager to showcase their grit and skill in front of our incredible fans,” Viel said.

Kings Face Amarillo Bombers in Rematch of Dramatic Win

Following the Queens’ match, the Omaha Kings take the field at 4 PM to host the Amarillo Bombers. This game promises to be a thriller, as the Kings recently edged out Amarillo in a nail-biting overtime shootout during Amarillo’s season home opener. With a final score of 7-7 (plus a 2-0 shootout), the Kings secured the victory thanks to clutch performances during the shootout by Leonides Mejia, Murilo Ceruli, and goalkeeper Efren Flores, who delivered a stunning shootout shutout.

“The Kings showed their resilience and ability to overcome adversity in Amarillo, working together to secure a hard-fought win,” said Viel. “We’re ready to build on that momentum and put on another thrilling performance for our fans this Sunday.”

More Than Just Soccer — An Electric Matchday Experience

Fans attending the games will enjoy a unique and electric atmosphere featuring:

  • Local Youth Soccer Club Appearances: Impact Football Academy's 2009 Girls (for the Queens' game) and Evolution Soccer Club's 2018 Orange and 2012 NL will join players during the intro walkouts and showcase their talent in a halftime mini-match.
  • A live DJ energizing the crowd throughout both matches.
  • A performance of the National Anthem on electric guitar by local artist Gavin Nissen.
  • Post-game autograph sessions with players from both teams.

With non-stop action, frequent scoring opportunities, and an electric atmosphere, arena soccer offers a sports experience like no other. “The energy at Baxter Arena is unmatched,” said Natalie Viel, the club’s Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder. “It’s more than just soccer; it’s an unforgettable experience that brings the community together and keeps fans coming back for more.”
